About Jones on Main

Jones on Main’s origins date back to 1929 when 712 Main Street was commissioned by legendary Jesse H. Jones – Houston’s business and philanthropic icon – as the Gulf Oil headquarters. The 34-story masterpiece is widely acclaimed, a City of Houston Landmark recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Together with 708 Main Street – acquired by Jones in 1908 – the property comprises an entire city block in Downtown Houston.

Bounded by Main, Rusk Travis and Capitol Streets, Jones on Main is prominently positioned at three intersecting Metrorail (green, purple and red) lines that connect the property to the Convention Center, the Ballpark District, the Medical Center and the Civic District.

Jones on Main is located steps away from an array of restaurants, theatres, hotels and cultural attractions.

Directly connected to the North Travis and Downtown Tunnel systems, offering both street level and tunnel access to parking.

We are within easy reach of bike lanes and the B-cycle bikeshare stations.

We offer diverse and renowned food and drink establishments on site, including the award winning Finn Hall. We are soon to be breaking ground with “more space” an outdoor extension of dining areas outside the doors of Finn Hall.

Jones on Main is the first Historic multi-tenant property in Houston to receive the Fitwel designation. Fitwel is a rigorous, healthy building certification system operated by the Center for Active Design (CfAD) that sets the industry standard for strategies to promote positive health outcomes for building occupants and communities. Jones on Main boasts a Walk Score of 98 (out of 100), a green purchasing policy and is in the process of creating more outdoor spaces for tenants.

Distinct and vibrant, Jones on Main touts a rich history, Art Deco architecture and famous frescoes.
